Fintech moats in an AI world: a webinar with Fuse Capital
I joined Kayode Sulola of Fuse Capital for an on-demand webinar on what stays defensible in fintech as AI makes products faster and easier to build. The recording is on Fuse Capital's website.
We covered which fintech advantages are getting easier to copy, my five-tier framework for thinking about defensibility, and the difference between using AI for efficiency and using it to build a moat. We also looked at why proprietary data, infrastructure and workflow embeddedness matter, and how defensibility ties to revenue durability, cash flow and fundability.
The central question was whether a fintech is becoming part of how its customers run their business, or simply getting better at being a feature. I wrote up the thinking behind it in Fintech moats in an AI world.
